Day 1 Morning Shenanigans

Day one kicked off with a very slow bang. After going to bed at 2:30am pacific time (5:30 eastern time) we woke up very groggy. Garrett and Cheli kicked off their day with some relaxation and a morning coffee in the back yard. Garrett was just telling Cheli how he wants to adopt a pug when he heard the clicking of tiny nails...










Keep in mind that Dawn lives on a pretty rural country road. Garrett named him Gus and was instantly in love. Gus had no collar, but clearly belongs to someone and had made a daring escape. It took all we could do to get Garrett to leave him behind (there's only room for one dog on this trip). We had Gus scanned for a chip, with no luck. We left Brad in charge of returning Gus safely to his owners, but Garrett is still pulling for Brad to bring this escaped pug to Ohio when he heads out in a few weeks.
